The destination, for starters, is unique: standing on the beach, you can appreciate the open sea with intense waves, where the waters range from green water to deep blue, and the sky is distinguished because it is more delicate than the tone of the ocean. And on one side, there is a cactus. Los Cabos is a unique spectacle where the sea and the desert meet.

Amid this splendid landscape is Grand Velas Los Cabos, a luxury resort that has distinguished itself for seven years for being unique in its category: all-inclusive with overflowing luxury and, best of all, detailed and careful attention.

The resort is strategically located between San Jose del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas, two of La Baja’s iconic towns. Both towns are just a 15-minute drive away. Grand Velas Los Cabos is where the Sea of Cortez and the Pacific Ocean meet. The hotel group erected a resort with 307 suites overlooking the seascape. Some have a private pool in addition to a jacuzzi.

The resort is a comfortable hotel for families with children and adults. Two pools are set up so infants can frolic with their parents. There is a third pool for adults only. It is strategically located, so it can lose sight of the ocean on one of the shores.

Pamper Yourself in Luxury

To top off this pool offer, to one side is the spa, SE Grand Velas, a magnificent space to get away from the mundane and even from it all. Reservations must be made 24 hours in advance, and the menu of massages and treatments is so vast that the decision will take work.

The spa is not part of the all-inclusive, it should be noted, but pampering at this level is a necessary luxury for the body and mind. And the experience begins with the water ritual. It consists of seven different water jets that will prepare calves, thighs, back, arms, shoulders, neck, head, and whole body for the treatment. The recommendation is to arrive 60 minutes before the massage and take advantage of this space, which offers a sauna session, steam with chromotherapy, ice room, polar pool, and jacuzzi.

After a relaxing session, it’s time to give your body what it wants. In this area, Grand Velas Los Cabos has placed particular emphasis on offering the best options for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The culinary tour includes French, Mexican, Italian, seafood, select cuts of meat, and the sophistication of chef Sidney Schutte – holder of two Michelin stars – in signature cuisine.

All these gastronomic options are part of the all-inclusive package.

Cocina de autor is more than a restaurant, it is a proposal/concept of Grand Velas Los Cabos. Chef Schutte’s gastronomic journey goes from the Asian streets to the Mexican ones, where he integrates two cultures in an exquisite proposal following the luxury and detail that distinguishes Grand Velas Los Cabos.

To sample a tasting snack: the tuna bubble with nori and piquillo seaweed is how the culinary journey begins, followed by a Comondú oyster with green apple, arbequina, and cilantro; then a corn velouté with black truffle, morel mushroom, and jicama and a scallop with miso butter, holy leaf, and tom yam. The main course is a beef fillet with celery root, onion, truffle, short rib, the dessert is preceded by a yuzu, with orange blossom, orange, and raspberry and finally comes the brigadeiro, cocoa nibs, coffee, and whiskey.

And, of course, these delicious dishes are accompanied by great white wines: a sauvignon blanc from Dolores Hidalgo (Tres Raíces), an American chardonnay from California (Round Hill), and a godello from Galicia (Martin Codax). And for the meat you will pair it with a Chilean blend (montgras, cabernet sauvignon, carmenere, syrah, malbec) Quatro.

The Details Are in the Staff

We must highlight the care and attention that the Grand Velas Los Cabos staff deliver. They are trained to ensure guests have an unforgettable vacation and are determined to make it happen. All employees are attentive at the pool, restaurant, bar, or check-in. This hallmark distinguishes the resort.

And for even more attentive, adults-only service, Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos will be the newest resort to open on November 21, 2023. This resort will have 79 spacious rooms (900 square feet) with private terraces, a small living room with sofa, walk-in shower and jacuzzi, a king-size bed or two queen-size beds, a daily replenished minibar with premium products and a 24-hour concierge.

The spa will have ocean-view cabins, and the distinguished hallmark of meticulous attention will be the Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos hotel icons, just a few yards from Grand Velas Los Cabos.

Each room will have a jacuzzi, and those on the upper level, more than half, will have ocean views. In contrast, the others will overlook the interior courtyard, a beautiful space adorned with multicolored bougainvillea and a fountain. And like the neighboring hotel, it will also be all-inclusive, but with an upper level for guests to disconnect from work and any worries.

In addition to the restaurants that Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos will have, guests can taste at the neighboring hotel. The new resort’s pool will have a cactus garden and an infinity pool overlooking the ocean.

While Grand Velas Boutique Los Cabos will be a smaller, boutique-style resort with fewer dining options, the fine dining restaurant will be the creation of Chef Schutte.

Ricardo Elias, creator of Gran Velas Resorts in the Riviera Maya, Riviera Nayarit, and Los Cabos, was responsible for the new resort to preserve the architectural style and taste. Mexican touches, such as the cactus garden, will be distinguished throughout the resort.

A Marriage Proposal Option

Grand Velas Los Cabos introduces a new helicopter engagement with a Michelin Dinner Under the Stars and an expert-led stargazing session. Considered one of NASA’s top 20 places for night-sky research, the night sky of the Baja Peninsula is a region renowned for its celestial views.

The helicopter proposal begins with a pickup directly at the hotel on its rooftop, Terraza Del Mar, where couples are treated to canapés and drinks before embarking on a 75-minute helicopter tour. Starting just before sunset, the golden hour takes passengers to Cabo San Lucas’s arch.

As the helicopter tour concludes, couples are surprised with the view of a floral display on the beach that spells out “Will You Marry Me?”

Alternatively, the hotel can create an oversized whale outline in candles, an ode to the destination’s annual migration. Then, it’s on to an open-air beach dining experience with two Michelin-star chef Sidney Schutte. The couple will be in full view of the stars, planets, and constellations stretching over the Los Cabos Baja Peninsula, where the open-air beach location is matched only by Chef Sidney’s open-flame dinner preparation.
